Ingredients of Cinnamon Rolls
- Prepare of For Yeast Proofing.
- Prepare 1/2 cup of Water(lukewarm).
- It's 1/4 cup of Milk(lukewarm).
- It's 1 tsp of Sugar.
- It's 2 tsp of Yeast.
- It's of For Dough.
- Prepare 3 cup of All Purpose Flour.
- It's 1/4 cup of Sugar.
- It's 2 Tbsp of Butter melted.
- It's 1 of Egg.
- It's 1/2 tsp of Salt.
- You need of For Filling.
- You need 1/2 cup of Brown Sugar.
- You need 1 Tbsp of Cinnamon powder.
- Prepare Pinch of Fresh Nutmeg (jaifal).
- Prepare 1/2 bar of Softened Butter.
- Prepare 2 Tbsp of Melted Butter.
- It's of For Cream Cheese Frosting.
- You need 1/2 cup of Cream Cheese.
- You need 1/4 cup of Confectioners Sugar.
- It's 1 Tbsp of Milk.
- It's 2 Tbsp of Melted Butter.
- You need 1/4 tsp of Vanilla Essence.
Cinnamon Rolls step by step
- Mix together lukewarm water +lukewarm milk in a bowl.add 1 tsp sugar..
- Add yeast, cover & keep aside for 5-10 min.this is called Proofing of Yeast.it will help activate yeast & rise up.either yeast swells up/rise up or gives foamy appearance which shows yeast has been proofed well enough..
- Add melted butter & sugar in yeast.whisk it to mix.add salt as well..
- Add one whole egg.add all purpose flour in yeast mixture..
- Mix flour slowly in yeast mixture, not all flour at a time.now mix it with hands..
- Gradually mixture takes form of soft dough.take little flour at a time and knead dough..
- When a soft dough is formed.cover it with clingfilm & keep for minimum 1 hr..
- Make filling by mixing brown sugar with cinnamon powder & pinch of fresh nutmeg (jaiful). Keep aside..
- Check after an hour or so, the dough has risen up.punch it & then roll it in ball of smooth dough once again..
- Dust rolling surface with dry flour & roll out the dough in square or rectangle log..
- Take softened butter & spread it on dough log with brush or with hands..
- Spread cinnamon filling at log..
- Start rolling the log from one side tightly.roll till the end. Keep dusting the surface if you need help in rolling the log..
- Level the dough with spatula or dough cutter.cut the log in equal parts around 10-12..
- Place butter paper on a baking tray or oven proof tray & place each roll,leaving space in between for further rising..
- I had 12 cinnamon rolls kept in two seprate dishes.cover the dish with samp cloth & keep aside for 30 min.after 30 min the cinnamon rolls puffed up some more & rise in volume.brush melted butter at top of rolls..
- Bake in prehaeted oven at 180°c for 20-25 min. Do check in between..
- Make cream cheese frosting. Take cream cheese in a bowl.add melted butter,confectioners sugar, milk,essence & mix well without any lumps. It should be soft smooth flowy in texture.keep in fridge till use..
- Take out hot cinnamon rolls from oven & pour cream cheese frosting while they are hot so as the flavours are absorbed fully. Sprinkle some cinnamon filling over the rolls..
